I was 47 years old when I was told that I had Parkinson's disease. I got lemons, a whole basket full.... actually more like a truck backed up and the driver said where do you want these, pal? Dumped them on top of me and drove off. Sad, angry, denial, I could have chosen many different ways to react, but none of them would eliminate that word incurable from Parkinson's.
I decided at that very moment that I would make lemonade. Not just a glass, I would build my own lemonade stand and do my part to find a cure. PY vs. PD Foundation was formed to support Parkinson's disease research and awareness by hosting fundraising events in the northern Virginia area with the support of family, friends, and our community. A cure is possible if we all come together and play a part, whether it's raising funds for research, participating in clinical trials, forming support groups, or raising awareness. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, we would love to see you at one of our events! We are a 501c3 non-profit organization, made up of an all volunteer staff.
